RTI workforce honored by Honda of America

A local team was recently presented with an award at their facility in Rainsville. Honda of America presented a double award for quality and delivery performance to the employees at Rainsville Technology, Inc. (RTI). That means the RTI team exceeded national expectations for the parts they make, and for delivering those parts on time. Less than 10 percent of the nearly 600 Honda of America suppliers recently received awards. Less than five percent received double award.

Every time you and I see a beautiful new Honda Pilot, Odyssey or Ridgeline, let us take pride in knowing that the award-winning employees at RTI make over 35 different parts for those vehicles.

AUGUST MILESTONES

Parties Unlimited held a grand opening and ribbon cutting two years ago on August 1, 2008. The company, located at 1282 Main Street East, rents wedding equipment, inflatables, and much more.

Another business, Orchard Lanes is turning three. It opened in August 2007. For a limited time at the bowling center, Wednesdays are Dollar Days, Fridays are Family Fun Days, and Saturdays are for Nite Owls.

JULY MILESTONES

The Rainsville Pediatric Dental Village opened last July with a ribbon cutting and open house on July 17, 2009. If you have not had the opportunity to see inside the extraordinary facility, here's a photo gallery.

Cornerstone Realty is now eight years old, having been founded in July of 2002. Owner Faye Gaskins is an expert when it comes to real estate matters. She is currently serving on our Rainsville Chamber of Commerce board of directors, too.

HEALING TOUCH OUR NEWEST CHAMBER MEMBER

There is a new Chamber of Commerce member this week: Healing Touch, a massage therapy provider. Owner Brooke Lassetter White moved into her new location at 244 Church Avenue in April. Pamela Simpson Clifton, also a licensed massage therapist, joined the Healing Touch staff also in April.

JUNE MILESTONES

Penny's From Heaven Spa was founded on, or around, June 1, 2001. So, Penny's, which has been voted the favorite spa in DeKalb County two years in a row, is now nine years old.

A year before Penny's opened, Rainsville Technology Inc (RTI) was founded in June of 2000. Happy 10th birthday, RTI.
