Anything is possible

Nine and a half years ago you could not have convinced me that, by 2010, something called Facebook would have more than 400 million active users, or that grown men would tweet in public and it would be considered completely normal.

If those things are possible, it is probably also possible for me to go a whole day without chocolate. But without a compelling reason, it is unlikely.

Similarly, it may be possible for the Chamber to meet its objectives if it gives more citizens a compelling reason to act in a certain way.

Our main objective is simple. We seek to help local businesses succeed by convincing more people to support them. Is it possible to convince more citizens to choose local businesses at every opportunity? Are jobs and maintaining Rainsville’s position as a vital commercial hub compelling enough reasons?

In my last article I promised to shine a spotlight on our members in the home improvement category during February and March. This week, the spotlight will be on Complete Lawn Care & Landscaping, and Cable Time, LLC.

Owned and operated by Alan Walker of Rainsville, Complete Lawn Care & Landscaping is currently the only landscaping contractor that is a member of the Rainsville Chamber.

Outside of residential and commercial landscaping, and mowing and trimming service, Walker and his staff also provide tractor work. Their services are available year round, and they are a Better Business Bureau Accredited Business with an A+ rating. When possible, you should see their ad on page 92 in the yellow section of the new 2010 Northeast Alabama Regional Directory.

Cable Time is well into their third decade of providing expert satellite television installation service. Owned and operated by Jimmy Willingham of Rainsville, Cable Time is the company you need to think of first when you consider Dish Network or DirecTV.
They sell Sony LCD flat-panel TVs, as well.

Cable Time has earned the recognition of both Dish Network and DTV for reaching Standards of Excellence in Customer Retention and Customer Satisfaction, and they are also a Better Business Bureau Accredited Business with an A+ rating.

I got my satellite TV system through Cable Time, and I can confirm that high-quality digital TV with over 250 channels in four separate rooms for only about two dollars a day is  not only possible, it is a genuine value.
