Let’s start at the top

There are advantages to being at the top.
The tallest giraffes can eat leaves up to 19 feet off the ground. That puts them at the top of the food chain, sort of speak, at least until the big predators come around.
They also have great vision. Great vision and being tall helps them spot lions, hyenas and Range Rovers from as far as their big brown eyes can see.

As an advocate for our member businesses, I am, of course, always looking for ways to convince local citizens to do business with our members. Each week, I would like to share information here that would compel people to do so.

So, with some inspiration from the friendly giraffe, I thought I would start at the top.
At the top, as far as being our largest member store, is Thomas & Son Furniture. They have about 50,000 square feet packed with furniture and accessories, which means living room, dining room and bedroom furnishings as far as your big brown eye can see. They are closed on Thursday and Sunday, but open the other five days from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Brantley's Western & Casual Wear is at the top of the list when it comes to offering the largest selection of clothing and footwear among our member businesses. Brantley's has boots and jeans almost as far as your eyes can see. They are open from 9 AM to 5 PM Monday through Saturday. For those at the top of the food chain, it is worth noting they also offer big and tall sizes for men.

Buying a home is at the top of the list when it comes to the top investment you can acquire from one of our members. CornerStone Realty, Kim Horton Realty, Northeast Alabama Realty, and White Realty are each members of the Rainsville Chamber and the DeKalb County Association of Realtors.

Currently, there are 75 Rainsville homes listed on the DeKalb County Association of Realtors' property listing system (PLS) with prices ranging from $39,900 to $689,000. Their PLS website is amazing. It allows home shoppers to view multiple photos-there are 24 photos for the $689,000 home-and to search by mountain, valley or town.
